Baby out of intensive care at Starship Hospital

3News NZ

A four-month-old baby boy who was admitted to Auckland's Starship Children's Hospital in a critical condition on Thursday has been moved to a ward.

The baby was now in a stable condition, a Starship spokesman told NZPA.

Child, Youth and Family (CYF) has been working with the family of the boy.

A 22-year-old woman appeared in Manukau District Court on Friday charged with assaulting a child and was remanded to reappear this week.

CYF general manager of operations John Henderson told the New Zealand Herald he could no go into details "due to the nature of the investigation", but the agency had been working closely with the family and would now be providing support to them.
