The Large Hadron Collider suffered yet another setback this week when a bird dropped a piece of bread onto it.
At first, CERN scientists blamed the particle-smasher's overheating on "routine tests", but later admitted a baguette had caused the problem.
The collider is located 175m beneath the Franco-Swiss border, which begs the question what a bird was doing down there in the first place.
A serious fault nine days after being switched on in September 2008 led to the collider being shut down until this month.
