Parliament had a visitor today - Kim Dotcom.
John Banks made himself scarce but the questions kept coming about why he declared Dotcom's mayoral campaign donations as"anonymous", and why Prime Minister John Key won't sack him as a minister.
“I'm just here to take a look at Parliament,” said Dotcom, but of course it was all about being seen himself - and to see his old mate Mr Banks.
The visit was Dotcom's way of saying, "excuse Me, Mr Prime Minister", but Mr Key wasn’t so keen to meet up with the Megaupload founder.
And while Mr Banks got up close and personal with the media yesterday, he didn't want to run into Dotcom today, saying he had other commitments to attend to.
Mr Banks left Mr Key to take the heat in the House as Dotcom watched on from the public gallery above.
After 21 minutes of debate about why Mr Banks couldn't remember Dotcom's donation and why he hasn't been sacked as a minister, the Prime Minister left in a hurry, but Dotcom was keen to stop and talk.
“It’s a very fragile majority - the balance of power is threatened by this whole John Banks affair so I think the Prime Minister has had to make a choice: 'Am I going to uphold high ethical standards or do I want to remain in power?'” says Dotcom.
Dotcom went public after Mr Banks refused to help him get a mattress for his prison cell.
“This has nothing to do with a mattress. I was in jail with two slipped discs and severe back pain and no one did any thing about it,” says Dotcom.
Dotcom's trip to Parliament was certainly one few will forget.
