The Dr. Hauschka travel kit

The Dr. Hauschka travel kit

By Luisa Petch

Welcome back to the beauty kit for 2010. This year we will continue reviewing many beauty products and services so you can save time at the counters and purchase knowing exactly what you will be getting for your money, or if that treatment you heard about will actually work for you.

We will tell you our views on the products as we become ‘guinea pigs’ in the name of beauty.

So enjoy The Beauty Kit for 2010 and go out and try the products and services we recommend. If it’s no good for you, pass it on to a friend who you think it would suit. If you miss out on something that is life changing you only have your self to blame!

Trilogy certified organic rosehip oil

20ml RRP$22.90

45ml RRP$38.90

This little bottle of magic has scored 10/10 in reducing the appearance of stretch marks and scars in independent lab results.

I have been using it on my son’s fresh wounds and scars from his failed attempts at scooter jumps and hot glue gun attacks over the holiday period and I have been amazed at the rapid healing process and also the older scars’ visible reductions.

I am now using it as a treatment on my face at night as it is also good for improving skin moisture, which I am in need of after such great summer weather. This natural oil is also recommended for stretch marks due to pregnancy.

Dr. Hauschka travel kit

RRP$75

I am quite a fan of Dr. Hauschka, because as I get older I do appreciate natural over chemical wherever I can manage it, as long as the product does the job just as well.

I was rapt when I was sent a Dr Hauschka travel kit containing; Rosemary Leg and Arm toner, Hand Cream, Cleansing milk, Facial toner, Rose day cream, Lip care stick and Eye cream all in nifty travel sizes. I feel like I have been to an exclusive day spa after indulging with these products. My skin glows, the cleanser removes make up really well, the Rose Day Cream makes you feel hydrated and smells like my Nana’s garden and being a hairdresser I am always in need of decent hand cream.

Also available is a REJUVENATING MASK (RRP$79) if your skin is feeling particularly parched from summer or heaven forbid….sunburnt!, this can be used as a treatment or it can be used lightly under regular night cream.

TV3’s beautiful presenter and reporter Samantha Hayes is also a regular user of Dr Hauschka.

Giovanni tea tree triple treat

Shampoo 250ml RRP$22.50

Conditioner 250ml RRP$22.50

Perhaps Giovanni have heard me telling all of my fellow school mothers over the past few years to put 2-3 drops of Tea Tree Oil in their kids shampoo bottles to keep away head lice, as they have now introduced this new Shampoo and Conditioner which contains Organic Tea Tree Oil, Peppermint, Rosemary and Eucalyptus. Aside from it being a great deterrent to nasty lice it also has great antiseptic properties for treating skin conditions such as dandruff. The perfume from the oils can take a bit of getting used to but it is invigorating, lathers up well and contains no Sulphates. A good investment for the whole family.

Olay Regenerist thermal skin polisher

RRP$19.99

Available at leading supermarkets, department stores and pharmacies.

The Olay Regenerist range has taken the Beauty world by storm. Not only is it a favourite amongst celebrities but it is well priced in the market and delivers what it promises. I regularly make up Phil Goff for television appearances and have commented on his great skin, he tells me he has been a user of Olay for a long time.

I was a bit skeptical at first thinking it would just be another unfulfilling product on my shelf, but I absolutely noticed a difference in my skin within about two days. I have been using the Skin Polisher which is a bit mind blowing when first used as it heats up on your skin when activated with water. It has very gentle micro-crystals and Glycolic acid to slough away dead skin cells. It is also good for men prior to shaving as it opens the hair follicles for a closer shave.

Used together with the Olay Regenerist Daily Revitalising Cream ($32.99) It made my skin feel like silk and the wrinkles around my eyes seemed to reduce. I have finished my first pot and I have another one written on my shopping list for the next time I am at the supermarket.

Not to mention that I love the earthy smell of the product. I have been using this for a while now and still have a lot left, so a little literally goes a long way."
