Beck is to re-record Leonard Cohen's landmark Songs of Leonard Cohen album with famous pals MGMT and Devendra Banhart.

The 'Loser' hitmaker plans to make the Cohen project his next Record Club venture - recording all the tracks from the album in a day without rehearsals and releasing them one by one via his website.

Beck's Record Club last tackled Velvet Underground & Nico.

In a post on his website, Beck writes, "Some of the songs are rough renditions, often first takes documenting what happened over the course of a day. There is no intention to 'add to' the original work or attempt to recreate the power of the original recording. Only to play music and document what happens."
