A Disney ice fantasy has arrived in Bruges.

International artists have been putting the finishing touches on a series of spectacular ice sculptures for the Belgian city's annual snow and ice festival.

This year, the festival celebrates the 20th anniversary of Disneyland Paris.

Among the 90 sculptures on display are a host of Disney favourites: Aladdin, Captain Jack Sparrow, Buzz Lightyear and Mickey Mouse, alongside lions and tigers from Disney classics The Lion King and The Jungle Book.

In order to stop the ice characters from melting, temperatures in the exhibition space are kept at minus 10 degrees Celsius.

It has taken five weeks and 29 artists from 11 countries to carve up all the ice scenes and 200 tonnes of ice have been used.

This year, the festival celebrates its 10th anniversary and is hoping to attract around 200,000 visitors.

The festival opens on 25 November and will run until 15 January, 2012.
