Ben Boyce has been announced as host of the 2011 Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards

The Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards have a new date, a new presenter, a new award category and a confirmed sponsor for 2011 and beyond.

The awards ceremony will now take place at Auckland’s Vector Arena at the later date of November 3 in order to sidestep the Rugby World Cup.

Ben Boyce of Pulp Sport and WANNA-Ben will host the event alongside FOUR presenter Shannon Ryan.

A new category has also been announced - Best Alternative Album, with RIANZ managing director Chris Caddick commenting that alternative music has a strong history in New Zealand dating back to the rise of indie labels in the late ‘70s.

Naming rights sponsor Vodafone have also announced that they signed on for another three years.
