Beverley Beaton has camped in the Arctic Circle, climbed in the Himalayas, been a nurse and a midwife.
But she has never been a birthday girl.
While Bev has had plenty of birthdays, she has never had her own birthday 'party'. She never had one as a child, or as an adult. She never has blown out birthday candles in front of all her friends.
When she let that slip to the local ladies of Leithfield, where she lives, they came up with a plan to give Bev her first and best birthday party ever, at the age of 80.
