You might be able to hear New Zealand's Justin Bieber fans screaming and crying, but this time it will be because they don't know where he is.

The Canadian pop star is in Auckland for three days from Wednesday, but his company Universal is keeping his movements under wraps this time.

Bieber last visited New Zealand in April 2010.

Hundreds of mostly female fans flocked to Auckland Airport to get a glimpse of the teen sensation. One even managed to pinch his baseball cap.

"I can't imagine we'll make the same mistake," a Universal NZ spokesman told NZ Newswire.

There is no public concert, but there will be a private show for 200 winners of a competition run by Skinny Mobile, Westpac and media companies.

He will also be doing television and radio interviews.

The visit is part of a world-wide promotional trip for his new album Believe.

However, keen fans may stake out local bungy jumping operations. During his last visit he jumped off the Auckland Harbour Bridge.

The 18-year-old announced the Auckland trip on Twitter last month: "Oh yeah I'm going to New Zealand on July 19th!! #BUNGEE."

What a brat Bieber is. I really hope this over-rated bubble around him bursts big time and soon. Fine he isn't doing a public concert but really, those fans had travelled all the way to the airport to see him surely he could have spared 5 mins to greet them or at least let them see him? Their money is what put him where he is today, not his talent.
