The Black Sticks women's hockey team will host India in a six-Test series in New Zealand in December.

It will their first outing since New Zealand women's hockey achieved their highest Olympic placing by finishing fourth in London in August.

The matches will be Napier, Palmerston North and Wellington.

Hockey New Zealand chief executive Hilary Poole says the wider Auckland region staged a number of Tests in the past year and the India series will be a chance for fans in other cities to see the Black Sticks in action.

New Zealand v India women's hockey match schedule: December 8 and 9, Napier; December 11 and 12, Palmerston North; December 14 and 15, Wellington.
