The BlackCaps have suffered another injury setback with the loss of Andrew Ellis from the first ODI against the West Indies.

Ellis suffered a grad 1 leg strain while batting as part of the 190 the Kiwis made as the inexperienced line up crumbles to the West Indies.

The New Zealand side is already without regular captain Ross Taylor.

All-rounder Ellis did not take the field at Sabina Park, Kingston.

Ellis sustained the injury to his left quad muscle while running between the wickets in his 14.
