Substitute Jason Roberts has scored a late winner to give Blackburn a 2-1 win at Newcastle in the Premier League.

Roberts netted in the 82nd minute Thursday for his second goal in two games to give the Magpies their third home defeat of the season.

Andy Carroll looked to have secured a point for the home side with a 47th-minute equaliser after Morten Gamst Pedersen had given Rovers a third-minute lead.

Roberts then muscled Mike Williamson off Robinson's clearance and tucked the ball past goalkeeper Tim Krul.
