Blackcaps captain Ross Taylor appears to have the upper hand over Australian counterpart Michael Clarke heading into the first test at the Gabba starting Thursday.

Taylor has a fully fit squad, while Clarke’s side is battling an injury crisis and will field a host of rookies.
