Alex James has given Blur fans a reason to celebrate this Christmas by revealing the ‘Parklife’ hitmakers are meeting up over the holidays and will "probably" record new material.

The news comes weeks after frontman Damon Albarn revealed he and his bandmates have been teaming up for low-key recording sessions.

James tells British music magazine NME, "We're getting together for a Christmas drink next week which is nice. We still see each other all the time, more since we were all living out of a suitcase... We'll probably record again."

But he insists the band isn't likely to release an album any time soon, adding, "Is there such a thing as an album? Does music have to come 12 tracks at a time?"
