Police have pulled a body from the Clutha River, but are not yet saying if it is that of a local truck driver missing for more than two weeks.

The man's body was found in the Kaitangata branch of the Clutha River on Wednesday afternoon, Dunedin police say.

However, police aren't confirming whether the body is that of Michael Dippie, 55, from Balclutha, who failed to turn up to work at the end of last month.

The man's name will be released once the body has been identified.
