Bouncer Jonathan Dixon has been remanded on bail without plea following a court appearance over an assault that left a man in an induced coma.

Dixon, 41, has been charged with two counts of assault and causing grievous body harm over an alleged attack on Jordan Sinke, 26, and Thomas Beatson, a friend of Mr Sinke's, on January 21 outside a nightclub in Queenstown.

He was remanded in Queenstown District Court on Monday, to reappear for a post-committal conference on March 27, the Otago Daily Times reported.

Dixon has indicated he will plead not guilty to the charges.

Sinke spent five days in an induced coma in hospital after the alleged assault.
