@Charles Eggen: the point is that NZ is going backwards. Having to resort to boxes like this as a way of housing the family on a permanent basis **IS** third world. It is a massive indictment of how living standards are dropping for ordinary people, and this govt of the rich for the rich needs to be held fully accountable for the social damage they are causing.

Yeah we get freezing cold and driving rain in July in the UK, too - sadly that our summer!.
We never knew you guys had a housing crisis like we do in the UK. All we get is yr shark attacks.

We have had a fantastic rented sleep out for the past 2 years for my teenager as we can't afford a 4 bedroom home. It is very warm in winter and provides a private space to do study and hang with friends. Costs us $55 per week, fits a double bed and desk with heaps of room to spare.
