Act is sitting on 3.4 percent support, down from a high of 5.3 percent.

Act is sitting on 3.4 percent support, down from a high of 5.3 percent.

Don Brash is pushing for an ACT/National coalition following a RadioLive/Horizon Poll that shows National does not have enough support to govern alone.

The poll shows the current National-ACT-Maori Party and United Future coalition could end up with 60 seats in a 122-seat Parliament.

Support for ACT is down since Dr Brash took over as leader, but he is confident the party will have the backing of the Prime Minister.

“The only question is which party is the best party for National to be in coalition with and in our judgement there’s no question about that being the ACT party.”

Horizon Research says National may also need an agreement with New Zealand First or the Mana Party.

Don Brash is being alarmist for his own benefit. Nothing he now says is likely to encourage Epsom voters to do as he says. Memories are short, but not that short Don!

The Horizon Poll on this occasion is wayward. Note that their surveys are of panels, not randomised like their polling competitors. Everybody knows that the demoralised and confused Labour Party is polling around 30 minus per cent to National's 50 plus. Everyone knows that John Key is infinitely more popular than Phil Goff.

Labour plus Greens will be about 40% - but don't forget that the Greens have said that they would consider a supply agreement with National. I don't see them supporting Labour if they can only must 30% of the total vote.

With the reliable assistance of Peter Dunne and the Maori Party, National should be maximising it's own votes, and not relying on the flaky Don Brash to implement its future programme. We know reasons why Don Brash departed in haste from Parliament a few years ago, we don't need him back again.

So does that mean National will be voting to legalise mariguana and follow Acts hope for more votes. Let's see who will have the last laugh.

So National is in difficulty, what a pity John preferred the Maori Party to ACT. After all the problems that the 3 party group has caused ACT would be insane to go into coalition if the Maori Party is included. John Key is determined to have the Maori Party, so lets see how the 2 parties do.

Country Calender was an interesting show back in the day. you would have farmers bring their dogs onto the show and put on herding displays. Now on todays show we have Farmer John and with Him are his two Mutts. Banksie is the oldest of the two dogs, sire to young Goldie. Banksie is a little stubborn, can be quite agressive, and has a nasty tendancy to attack hippies, the unemployed and the sick. Goldie is a good little pup, though he often tries to hump the leg of old farmer john... john doesnt seem to mind so much either. Farmer John has come to Epsom today on a mission... he's heard that the sheep are really placid... but his quandry today seems to be which dog to let loose on those hapless sheep. Which way will the hapless little sheep of Epsom be pushed by Farmer John and his two dogs? not long to go now.......... LOL its like watching a bad soap opera... the only thing that would make it partially interesting is the people of Epsom telling old Farmer John and his two mutts to go to hell. Otherwise its just another episode of a country calender, watching as the sheep let themselves get dragged around.
