While the figures may well be true the system in force in the UK and the US is extremely different from NZ. NZ needs a flexible retirement system the way it is now because NZ is so isolated from the rest of the world. If the systems in place in the UK and in US were enforced in NZ, nobody would live in NZ anymore.
