Revenge might be a dish best served cold but the Breakers will not give their latest loss a chance to cool down.

After ending their five match winning streak in Wollongong on Saturday, the Breakers host the Hawks on Thursday night.

Getting another crack at their supposed bogey team is fine with Breakers coach Andrej Lemanis.

“I think when you lose to someone it’s always good to back up and play them again, and it's also good preparation for the playoffs,” he says. “Sometimes you play teams two to three times in a row so everybody makes their adjustments and you see what happens.”

One player hoping for improvement is guard Cedric Jackson.

Normally the Breakers' spark on offence, the Hawks kept Jackson from recording a single assist.

The American import is confident there will not be a repeat performance.

“I really wasn't as aggressive as I usually am, my coaches told me about that. So I definitely won't let that happen again, it was my last and only one.”

The Hawks have now beaten the Breakers on both of their encounters this season, with Wollongong forward and former Breaker Oscar Foreman saying his former club are becoming predictable and, more importantly, beatable.

Breakers centre Alex Pledger says the team is still on top of the table, “so I don't know how predictable we are”.

“If we are, not many people have been able to stop it so far. It was only one game and I’m pretty sure we can bounce back.”

A win on Thursday will not just make up for Saturday’s loss in Wollongong, but also exact revenge on the only team to beat them on their home court this season.
