Brides on the hunt for a bargain wedding gown stormed into Filene's Basement store in Atlanta on Friday, for the annual "running of the brides".

At 8.00 pm the shoppers ran into the store and grabbed as many gowns as they could, as fast as they could.

Local media reported that at least one woman received minor injuries.

Together with friends, partners and family members, future brides queued up outside the store from as early as Thursday night.

Some travelled from states across the US to try and buy their desired dress.

More than 2000 designer label wedding dresses were on sale at discounted prices, according to store officials.
