Britney Spears' paparazzo ex Adnan Ghalib has taken to the airwaves to slam reports he's shopping a sex tape around - but accepts he's "one of the most hated men in America".

Ghalib, who was dating Spears during her January and February meltdown, has already denied the existence of a sex tape, featuring himself and Spears, and now he's using his contacts in the media to spread the truth.

The snapper called in to American Idol host Ryan Seacrest's Los Angeles radio show on Thursday to further comment on the sex tape reports, but he refused to go on air.

Instead, he agreed to talk to Seacrest's sidekick, Negative Natalie, and allowed her to relay his comments during the show.

But he warned her: "You're gonna get hatemail" for appearing to defend him.

Natalie said: "He said, 'I know that people hate me, I know that I'm one of the most hated men in America.'"

The radio co-host then revealed: "Everything he said was in consideration of Britney's feelings... He didn't want it (sex tape story) to overshadow the good stuff that she's doing... He was very nice."
