The Bulldogs are gunning for Canberra fullback Josh Dugan, in what will be the first big recruit for the club under the reign of coach Des Hasler.
Dugan is the Bulldogs top target for 2013, with St George Illawarra also making overtures for the NSW Origin star.
As all clubs go through their final playing lists for the season, it’s been revealed South Sydney are in the hunt for Melbourne Storm half Cooper Cronk , while Dragons enforcer Beau Scott has been targeted by both Parramatta and the Newcastle Knights.
Dugan’s manager Paul Sutton yesterday travelled to Canberra to kick off contract talks with Raiders boss Don Furner, who pledged to do “everything possible” to keep the fullback in Canberra green.
With the NRL's 2013 salary cap set to be fattened considerably in line with an improved broadcast deal, Dugan could command $700,000-a-season when third-party agreements are accounted for.
