working from home, a friend is here who was previously harrassed by an HRV rep (Steve W) when the HRV guy who came over last night decided he would pop around unnanounced, just like all of the other HRV salesmen... because he was 'in the area' . hmmmm a trend I do not like... it was quite uncomfortable especially when he lingered in my lounge while I had a meeting at my work... How are we supposed to deal with this? I am a woman in my 30's and feel concerned about this, I can't imagine how a little old lady must feel, THIS MUST STOP.

I worked at HRV as one of their telemarketers. The "starting pay" was $13 an hour, but we were told that if we worked hard we wouldn't need to worry because of the bonuses. My colleagues and I worked extremely hard but nobody in the office ever got the bonus despite the company making a lot of money off our appointments. We were pushed hard and so were the sales people. If they don't sell they don't eat so there is enormous pressure on them to sell. That is the reality at HRV. It was well known in my office that the sales people were selling units at above the suggested retail price for whatever they could get out of the customer. This was considered a clever thing to do and I heard the boasting. To me seemed completely immoral. The systems work great but the sales tactics and the way they treat their staff are horrible.

Just had my 6th phone call from hrv. every time I have told them I don't need one and done want one. the 5th time he tricked my partner into giving him my mobile number and I told the just I don't want one for the last time don't not ever call me again. he said " ok no worries in ring you back next week" and hung up. 2 weeks later i got another call from a lady. apparently she is better then the last guy who rung me because she is a girl. She knew all the details i had told last guy. "this is a very special offer that you get a free consolation" i was picked for a free consolation out of a lot of people. i posted on facebookm and a friend told me to watch this. definitely applying so they don't call me again.

Just letting you know their technique hasn't changed. A woman came over yesterday from HRV, I told her we have a DVS system and she offered to have the guys look at it to see if they could service it for us. I stupidly agreed and booked in to see us 7.30pm tonight. The guy was hear for a hour, he was an absolute tosser to my husband and would not leave even though he knew we have a toddler that needed to go to sleep. I wish I had read this first, can't wait until the start the follow up calls.

The sales reps for HRV are shockers. Incredibly rude and aggressive. The only way to get rid of them is to be more aggressive than they are, threaten physical violence and tell them to bugger off. It would be interesting to know how many elderly people are pressured into buying their products.Bullies that they are.

We had one installed. The salesman did the usual salesman speech. but nothing over the top. We were told at the time it didnt heat the house, only dried it. Perhaps people need to listen instead of assuming. It transfer warm air from the roof down. If the roofs cold, its will be cold. Anyway, we got one installed, Love it

I worked for these guys for quite a while as customer service, so dealt with all the problems and upset people their sales techniques cause. it is not the reps fault they are trained to do this, and will be sacked if they don't. I've seen sales to mentally disabled, dementia patients, elderly who had no money. The reps are taught and encouraged to lie, not to take no for an answer, refuse to leave the house, and to say whatever they have too to get the sale. These complaints have been going on since the day they started, and have been swept under the carpet. I regularly contacted the bosses about this and was told that is why we employ you. The new owners have since briught in a regime that even the customer service guys, filter changes and installers have sales targets, and if they don't hit them they are bullied and eventually fired. The bullying you read about goes on with all the staff not just to the clients. I being a service guy went from a sales target of zero to being expected to sell over $1500.00 per week, and this was under the new management. At least the old management which seemed to get the blame for everything going on had an idea what customer service was, the new management are more money driven than the old was. Contracts are changed on staff illegally on a regular basis and HRV is always in court fighting small claims from both clients and ex staff.
