A furniture remover who allegedly flew into a rage over a burger mix-up at a fast food restaurant has been banned from entering the premises after an Auckland court hearing.

David Ilolahia, 35, faced Auckland District Court on Thursday charged with assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, damaging a till and disorderly behaviour during the incident at Wendy's Lynfield.

Staff locked themselves in the office during last Friday's alleged rampage which was apparently triggered by a mix-up in which Ilolahia was given two incorrect burgers.

Judge Lisa Tremewan outlined police bail conditions which prevent him from "offering violence" or visiting the store, the New Zealand Herald reports.

The store management told media earlier this week the Blockhouse Bay man was not banned although it would like an apology.
