Bus attack girl comes forward

One of two young girls caught on camera punching, kicking and spitting on an elderly man on Queensland's Gold Coast has turned herself in to police.

A 13-year-old bus passenger filmed the racially motivated attack as the women turned on the partially blind man.

The man attempted to defend himself but was punched by one of the women.

The bus eventually stopped, at which point a male passenger kicked them off, throwing their lavish hats after them.

A police spokesperson says one woman turned herself in at Coolangatta police station, but would not identify which of the pair it was.

The 77-year-old man, who was left with bruised arms, is expected to make a formal complaint and press charges.
