Easy. Cut taxes, put more money in the driver's pockets. Classify public transport as an essential service and ban strikes by the unions. The socialist daydreamers running the unions somehow believe, with their perverted socio-economic philosophies, that even the office cleaner deserves a paypacket equivalent to that of a skilled neurosurgeon.

"New Zealand Bus has rejected an offer by bus drivers to take Auckland children to school for free when the new term starts tomorrow.

The drivers have been locked out since Thursday morning after issuing a work-to-rule notice in support of their long-running pay" they r working for free right ?? y not just let them get in the bus and drive ??

I'm completely frustrated with the public transport in Auckland. Give them their payrise so we can get to work!
I use the bus every single day and now I don't have any other way of getting to work (or getting to the supermarket) other than expensive taxis, the trains go nowhere near the area I work in, there aren't even any replacement buses on my route! My monthly pass which I paid $110 for is worthless to me while this crap goes on.
Sort it out NZ BUS! You've disrupted so many peoples lives! Grrrr!

This whole thing is dragged out of proportion, stupid and is expected only of selfish little brats. Whoever gave these irresponsible idiots such an vital role should take it away from them.

I can't believe they are draging the whole of Auckland (both people who take the bus as well as people who drive to work) in their twisted stunt

I think NZ Buses got no heart at all for the Auckland public, they are making more money each day...from where?? yeah, the hard working 'DRIVERS'c'mon NZ Buses, give them what they want which i believe being a passenger on your buses every day is not enough,so that the people of Auckland can get on with their every day plans.Good Luck to all DRIVERS of AKL!!!!!!!!!

Just one note here the bus drivers are not on strike, they have been locked out by the company, therefor are unable to operate any buses. The drivers did turn up to work today, however because the company locked them out, no services were run. Thanks

I have paid for a monthly bus pass which is completely worthless to me while these buses are striking. It cost me $185 for the month and is only for te companies striking. Im extremely frustrated as if it wasnt for the extremely poor sales staff of Northcross dairy I would have a better pass which would see me still able to travel using Birkenhead and ritchies.
