The Health Ministry has sent warning notices to hotels on the Coral Coast

Sun, 30 May 2010 10:41a.m.

It is business as usual for the top tourist hotels in Fiji - despite five villages in the Navosa Province being declared a public health emergency zone after an outbreak of typhoid.

The Health Ministry has sent notices to hotels on the Coral Coast - a popular tourist spot, but general manager of the Shangri La Hotel Michael Monks says tourists at his hotel need not worry.

So far, there are 25 confirmed cases and 50 suspected cases of typhoid in the affected area.
