Many New Zealanders feel financial literacy is severely lacking in the country, hence many put money into finance companies without realising the risk involved.

The retirement commission is holding a financial literacy summit in Wellington tomorrow and a keynote speaker is professor Annamaria Lusardi of Dartmouth College in the US.
