First albums for recording artists are usually funded by record labels, producers, financiers, or perhaps even rich uncles.

However, a compilation CD put together this month by a Wellington singer is funded by the Mental Health Foundation.

It features artists who have their own story to tell about dealing with mental illness.

It is not just a token gesture either as an international record label has just signed on.
