The engineers involved in the construction of the CTV building are refuting a technical report which says it was not built to proper standards.
The Canterbury Television building crumpled then caught fire in the February earthquake, killing 115 people.
The Department of Building and Housing released their report yesterday, saying the columns were not strong enough and the wall layout did not meet building standards at the time of construction.
However the engineers responsible for the design, Alan Reay Consultants Ltd, say they disagree, and want another report.
They say the report used methods which go against international best practice, resulting in questionable assumptions and flawed conclusions.
