It's the ‘Mountain Warrior’ versus the ‘Green Machine’ when Shane Cameron takes on Danny Green for a world title shot locked in for November 21.

“It's amazing, it's any fighter's dream to fight for the championship of the world,” says Cameron.

“I’m pretty excited to knock out a Kiwi and win back my world title,” says Green. “You should see the footage of what he’s got; he’s an animal, so I know what I’m up against – it’s a big challenge.”

It's been a frustrating wait for Cameron, who first called out the now three-time world champ Green back in 2010.

In 2011 Green's career appeared to be in ruins after he lost his IBO world title to Antonio Tarver - who is perhaps best known for his role in the last Rocky movie - but after one defence the 43-year-old American ended up losing his title before his next scheduled bout in June.

“Unfortunately Tarver got stripped, his wrongdoing [was] testing positive for steroids. The title became vacant and Green and I have been meaning to get it on for the last two years,” says Cameron.

So with the belt now vacant again, Cameron's negotiations with Green and the IBO means he gets his shot.

And despite knocking Monte Barrett out as a heavyweight back in July, Cameron's manager says it won't be a problem for the 34-year-old who has made a career of fluctuating from 105 to 90kg, to drop the weight.

“The timing is perfect for us, because Shane is now sitting around 95 instead of the 105 he was two years ago,” says Reinsfield.

Cameron has an eight-week training camp to drop the remaining 5kg before fight night, November 21, in Melbourne.
