They are closing schools all over Christchurch, even in areas that are growing and where the remaining schools are going to end up overcrowded. This government does not give a toss about communities and future generations, just money. This is an outrage. If the government are to regain any credibility they need to admit they have they have got it wrong and start again. Annette how accurate you are! I couldn't watch the whole thing. As a teacher myself I am appalled that this woman has so much power and I understand is responsible for a lot of ( unwanted)changes in our education system, which , contrary to much publicity , is in very good shape. Why do we need someone from the other side of the world to tell us how to run our education department? Her patronising attitude to educators and their schools in Christchurch was distressing to say the least.
