Correlation doesn't mean causation, I'm sceptical It may be coincidental that religious people breed more. I'd be interested to see what the gene frequency was in religious people people, not the birth rates of the faithful.
All currently accepted scientific 'truths' started with an initially unproven concept. I say this deserves to be studied. I have thought that IF there were a gene that pre-disposes one to be supertitious or religious, that it got a huge boost when the church was killing off the non-believers. The ones of us who would have survived learned to hide it.
