Where's my letter of encouragement to Caryn ect...?
Man, I wish they had that kind of optional treatment available to me, for when I went through my Chemotheraphy treatment, testicular cancer back in 03, which is still only very recent. I think it's way totally cool that Caryn had the opportunity to preserve her hair that way, while recieving treatment, and others too of course, in this very manner. It's totally awesome, and awe inspiring, to hear and see advancements in medical research and modern technology, of hospitals wards, in helping out in any way possible, those who are suffering, through any type of bodily cancer. And so I write this, in obvious support and encouragement to all those who are recieving treatment, empathetically, and sympathetically, for I know EXACTLY! what it's like, and what you're ALL! going through, in different stages, and in your own different ways too, of course. Personally, my hair never actually fell out itself, leaving me with any bald pacthes and the like. I could literally like, and did, PULL MY OWN HAIR OUT myself, and did so for many weeks, at the time. But now today, thanks literally and directly to Chemotherapy Treatment,it directly got rid of all of my many grey hairs that I had then, recieved from as early as High School years. Today I now have no more grey hair, at all, which may, or may not, return in time. So pease, BE ENCOURAGED AND COMMENDED! You are all very, extremely brave, in what you are doing, going through, and are about to go through as well. That, which is still to come, I mean. So cheers, best wishes and lots of genuine heartfelt love and aroha to you all.Good Luck.Kia Kaha!
Fifteen years ago I had chemo in Napier and was told would lose all my hair. We had heard about freezing the head to stop hair loss and at age of 20 this was very important! So I would place about 5 of those frozen gel packs all over my head and then wrap a bandage round to hold them on - and it worked!I only lost 1/4 of my head hair and never had to wear my wig. I would not have been able to afford $500 for a special cap each chemo session so this is a very cost effective way of doing it and with great results and feel people in the same position need to know there is another option.
Hi if you know anybody that could be interested to find out more about Penguin Cold Caps here is the web address www.penguincoldcaps.co.nz Thanks to Tristram Clayton and the Campbell live team for providing such a great opportunity to help people find out about them. I have seen them in action, if you need chemotherapy they will help you keep your hair and help your mind with some of the stress of having cancer.
