All Blacks first-five Dan Carter will be given until the last minute to prove his fitness before the New Zealand side sets off on their two-game road trip to end the Rugby Championship.
Carter’s suffering from a calf strain that continues to give him problems and although the unbeaten All Blacks top the table with four games from four, it’s a tough end to the tournament.
"No, he's not running full noise yet," Hansen told media in Dunedin yesterday. "The medical staff think he will be (OK), but we'll have to wait and see.
"We'll probably make a decision late in the week, probably Friday."
While Carter’s missing in action, Aaron Cruden has been filling the No. 10 spot.
"The two young guys (Cruden and halfback Aaron Smith) drove us around the park quite well in the second half," Hansen said, after the 21-11 win against South Africa.
"They're continuing to grow and get experience, and that experience will do us well in the future."
The All Blacks play Argentina on September 29 in La Plat and South Africa in Johannesburg on October 6.
