Police want to hear from anyone with information

A man carrying a gun has stolen cash from two security guards in central Hastings.

The robber, who is thought to have been armed with a pistol, stole the cash box near an ANZ bank about 10am Friday, police said.

The security guards, a woman and a man, were shaken but not hurt.

The offender took off in a black Holden Ute.

He was described as being of Maori appearance and wearing a yellow high-vis vest.

Police want to hear from anyone with information.
