Castle appointed as Bulldogs CEO

Netball New Zealand chief executive Raelene Castle has been appointed as the Bulldogs' chief executive today, becoming the first female CEO in the NRL's 15-year existence.

"Raelene was the standout applicant from a list of high quality candidates made up of sporting and business leaders from around the world," club chairman Ray Dib said in a media statement.

Castle and her partner Greg Jones will move to Australia in July, ending a tenure with Netball New Zealand which saw the establishment of the ANZ Cup and the Silver Ferns winning the gold medal at the Commonwealth Games.

"I am proud of what we have achieved over the last six years and I look forward to seeing Netball's continued growth and success in the future” said Castle.

"I am excited for the opportunities ahead for this club and for rugby league and I will look to continue a Bulldogs tradition of innovation and strong leadership."

A media conference will be held at 2:45pm today.
