Australian golfer Kristie Smith is feeling little pressure as she heads into the New Zealand Women's Open as the defending champion.
The 23-year-old, who plays on the Ladies European Tour, missed much of the second half of last year with a shoulder injury.
While she is now fully recovered, her targets for the 54-hole tournament, which begins in Christchurch on Friday, are not overly ambitious.
"I don't think there's any pressure on me," she said.
"To be honest, my form hasn't been that great. Obviously, as the defending champ, the public are going to be watching me, but I have very low expectations."
The West Australian believes scoring will be lower than last year, with the greens at the Pegasus course looking softer this week.
Compatriot Sarah Kemp, a two-time runner-up in the event's three-year history, arrived in Christchurch boosted by her 10th placing in the Australian Open last week.
"It was the highlight of my year so far," she said.
"I also draw on some confidence from how I've gone here at Pegasus. I think both of those factors will help me here."
Kemp, 26, plies her trade on the US LPGA tour, where she made seven cuts in 14 events last year.
