New Zealand is hosting the Champion's Trophy

The Champion's Trophy is a hockey tournament made up of the best eight teams in the world, and this year, New Zealand is hosting it.

For a hockey player winning the Champion's Trophy is right up there with winning an Olympic medal - it is a huge achievement.

And last night at North Harbour Hockey Stadium the New Zealand men’s hockey team - the Black Sticks - took a massive step towards that goal by qualifying for the semi-finals.

The last time a New Zealand team did that Robert Muldoon was prime minister, and none of the current team had even been born.
