There is no going back for Lower Hutt woman Tina Beznec as a tattooist began inking her backside with the logo of strip club chain Calendar Girls on Friday.

The 23-year-old made headlines in January when she offered a 9cm by 9cm space of her skin on Trade Me.

The auction titled "YOUR tattoo on my Bum!!" closed on January 20 with a winning bid of $12,450 from the strip club chain.

"I'm a little bit nervous but I'm feeling pretty good," Ms Beznec told NZ Newswire at Otautahi Tattoo studio in central Auckland moments before getting the tattoo.

"No, no doubts. I had a few bubbles this morning but not too much because it thins the blood and I didn't want to bleed everywhere."

A lack of funds following two redundancies and four months unemployment inspired Ms Beznec to place the Trade Me ad.

Artist Scott Chapman is inking the tattoo which is set to be finished by 2pm Friday.

About six people turned out for the free Calendar Girls logo tattoo offered by the studio.

Mark Phillips, 40, made the 10-hour overnight coach ride from Porirua for the privilege.

He planned to get the tattoo on the left cheek of his backside.

"I was inspired by all the media coverage," he told NZ Newswire.

"It's not really mad, is it? It's an interesting life experience."

Mr Phillips says he was motivated by the strip club entry fee waiver which was offered to those who had the logo inked.

Ms Beznec's boyfriend, Graeme Webb, 29, was also lined up to get the free tattoo.

Ms Beznec chose nine-year-old Nelson boy Phoenix Stafford, who is fighting a rare form of cancer, as the recipient of $2,490 of the money she made from the stunt.

The rest of the earnings will be spent on a trip to Australia.
