A Kapiti Coast computer technician, accused of stealing photos of children to supply an international child porn network, was today remanded on bail until next year.

Ian Mead, 47, ran a Raumati computer shop and faces 96 charges after allegedly taking images off family computers, brought to him for repairs.

He was arrested at Auckland Airport on November 23 and today made his second appearance at Porirua District Court.

The remand came as police requested more time to prepare their case against Mead.

He will reappear on January 26 when his defence says a plea is likely to be entered.

Mead has lived in New Zealand since 2004 and police have said he will eventually face further charges in Britain.
