A child with cancer will be the one to push the button and implode Christchurch's Newstalk ZB building.

Seven demolition companies joined forces to bid $26,000 for the right to choose who'd be the one to set off the explosives this Sunday.

They passed the opportunity to the Child Cancer Foundation.

The 14-storey building is expected to take just 7.7 seconds to come down.

Anything that makes a cancer patient feel better for 7.7 seconds give or take, I'm all for it. Another thing I'm for is comparing this soon-to-be controlled demolition video, to that of World Trade Center 7, 1 & 2. Look closely at the striking similarities of controlled imploding free fall of the Newstalk ZB building, to that of WTC 7 especially. That's assuming TV3 plan to have cameras there to document the event. . .
