The China Cat Fanciers brought felines from across Asia to Beijing for their 13th cat show.

More than 160 purebred felines of over 40 breeds took centre stage at the two-day event this year.

A panel of cat experts from all over the globe served as the event's judges and rated the participating felines by category. The entrants were divided into categories by both age and breed.

"The judges grade each cat on their growth, temperament and intelligence. They check the cats physically, observationally and have them play simple games," said Gao Yuan, former president of the China Cat Fanciers.

In the end, an exotic shorthair named "Legend" took first place.

The exotic shorthair breed is famous for its appearance in the American cartoon Garfield.
