Two Chinese stars have been fined for lip-synching at a concert in Chengdu, according to Chinese state media.
TV station CCTV broadcast video of the two singers miming at a concert.
Lip-synching was banned in China following public anger at the revelation that one of the young singers at the Beijing Olympics had mimed during the performance.
According to Business Performance Management Regulations, the two singers, Fang Ziyuan and Yin Youcan, were fined over US$7,000, CCTV reported, although the pair claimed to be dancers.
The pair were fined for their suspected lip-synching performance last September at the Huang Shengyi Solo Concert in Chengdu.
Popular Chinese singer Jiang Dawei said told CCTV, "I think as a singer, people listen to your songs. If singers did lip-synching, it's no difference to the audience to listening to a CD at home. Art is about something real."
