As a city shook and fell, where you were at that moment was the difference between life or death.

One year on, Cantabrians still struggle with the randomness of it.

That a simple decision - to take a later lunch, to drive down that street, to park in that spot - would change lives.

Reporter Jendy Harper speaks to some who were in the right place at the wrong time; the lucky ones.

I rang The Clinic on the morning of the 22nd and was offered an appointment at 11:30 or 12:30 that day, I too took the earlier appointment. I can still remember Dominic's hand on my shoulder as he bide me farewell. I agree with you, your out look on life does become a lot different.
