One year ago this month, Christie Marceau was killed in her North Shore home. Her killer, who was on bail at the time, was found not guilty by reason of insanity.

Since her death, her parents Tracey and Brian have campaigned to change the bail laws, and are now fundraising for a trust recently formed in her honour.

Together with others who've been traumatised by crime – they are literally 'baring all' for the cause.

I think all people deal with their grief in their own way, for instance, some people sing songs at their loved ones' funeral, they may write songs and sing it, or they may be like Christie's parents and do something unique.

If this is what turns your fancey I suppose where as , if I was the parent and I am there would of not been anything that I would of done to self protect my loved one, however not everybody knows how to I suppose, lack of knowledge as our tamariki are paramount, and now that this overstayer has committed a crime in NZ you want to use him as a catalyst to set a standard in NZ yet you both as parents failed your own daughter but you are willing and prepared to impose heavy sanctions on others and the chances are they are going to be Maori again getting wasted by a corrupt system I am glad the Christine Law didnt pass and now I see you both doing this...you poor lost souls...you did this to yourselfs by not protecting your loved ones better than you could have and listen and talk to your children effective communications is the key to a successful relationship, thought you would of known this...maybe not...but you learnt the hard way and no amount of money is going to bring justice for her death when justice does not need to be served he pleaded insane to where is the justice in this corrupt system...welcome to it, exactly what the maori have been faced with since the beginning of time when we meet them, or they overstayed their welcome with us here in NZ
