I'm not disrespecting those who have died serving the war in Iraq and especially our men (NZ), but c'mon this is a war. Whether we are peace keepers or not, my understanding of what the 'WAR', is about, is in fact kill or be killed. The name of the game is survival. Why is there so much hoorah about the talley up of deaths. My son would like to go to the army next year. Although I'm dreading the thought of that ever happening I completely know and understand what that path would lead too. He will either survive or die. There shouldn't be too much empathy on the lifes of those who are in the army or war for taking other lifes or not. WAR is death, WAR is survival, WAR is protecting and most of all WAR is a sacrifice.

"Alex, for goodness sakes even you can can come up with better than the idea America went into Iraq to kill brown people.

The US maybe selfserving, corrupt and deceitful but they don't just invade a country on the otherside of the world just so their soldiers can shoot a few 'brown people'. Whatever the real motives the US has behind their invasion of Iraq; Saddams WMD's, terrorist links etc were certainly a useful smoke screen to get them in there."

I see you picked up on the "brown people" part, rather than the "illegal invasion force" part. Whatever the motive, it's no better than going there to kill brown people, especially considering that's what's actually happening.

The war wasn't about oil, you are right. The original war, Iraq attacking Kuwait was. Kuwait and American Companies were angle drilling under the boarder stealing Iraqi oil.

America has no intention of leaving Iraq. There is something there that makes it very valuable to stay there, and it's not oil.
