France will take on Wales next Saturday night at Eden Park in the first semi-final after the Welsh beat Celtic rivals Ireland 22-10 in the first-quarter final.

It is still domestic arrivals for Wales rather than international departures.

Coach Warren Gatland's team started impressively.

Shane Williams dotting down after just three minutes.

Ireland's big forwards started to get a roll on winning a penalty.

The gamble did not payoff with Wales’ rush defence to hard to crack.

Confident Irish fans were rewarded early in the second spell though with Keith Earls sliding in to level the score at 10 all.

But some individual brilliance from both Mike Phillips and Jonathan Davis secured the win for Wales.

The 22-10 win seeing Wales into the semi-finals for the first time since 1987.
