If you were the mean spirited type it would be easy to hate director Terence Malick.
While his peers fumbled their way through embarrassing debuts like Dementia 13 (Francis Ford Coppola) Malick seemed to burst fully formed onto the scene with the instant classic Badlands.
It's so good Bruce Springsteen wrote a song about it and Quentin Tarantino stole the music and put it in True Romance.
So why haven't more people seen it?
